Life's Dance

orewa_alfie 2004 (Perlis)

Life and death, a dance of sorts,
A journey that each of us supports.
A fleeting moment, a passing breath,
We come into this world, and then we're left.

Life is a mystery, an adventure untold,
Full of joy and pain, stories to be told.
Each day a chance to learn and grow,
To love and laugh, to reap and sow.

But death comes calling, it's a fact of life,
An end to our struggles, an end to our strife.
It's a natural part of the cycle of things,
A time to rest, to spread our wings.

And though we may fear the great unknown,
We must embrace it, make it our home.
For life and death are two sides of a coin,
Together they make us whole, never to be alone.

So let us live with purpose and grace,
Cherishing every moment, every face.
For when our time comes, we'll leave a legacy,
A life well-lived, a story for eternity.

About this poem

The poem suggests that life is a journey full of experiences, both good and bad, that shape who we are as individuals. However, death is an inevitable part of this journey, a natural end to our time on earth. The poem encourages us to live each day with purpose and to make the most of our time, as we never know when our time may be up. It acknowledges the fear that many people feel about death, but suggests that we should try to embrace it as a natural part of the cycle of life.
