About the Mess that You Made
Carried Away
About the Mess that You Made
Let's talk about the mess that you made
Why do you behave as if you've got a maid?
Though someone else left your life in such disarray
As if someone entangled you or sold you as a slave
Take a good look at the mess you claimed
Was provided by others, you are shifting the blame
This bed that you made seems hard and is rough
But, I'm sorry my darling if my words to you are tough
Try taking responsibility in denying the part that you played
Hiding out so others your shame can't disdain
Own up to your faults, short-comings and remain
With integrity, true and somewhere within virtue pursue
Stop dotting your misfortune on someone else
Pick up that mirror and take a good long look at self
Make a clean start from the inside-out
Change your perspective, transform your heart and mind
Let it not be only of your outward appearance
Those things that are unnecessary; please let them go
Never look back, keep pressing upward and forward
Get with it, because time brings about change
