I don’t want to live on this earth for a long time, I just want to go home
Cause nothing is truly beautiful, not this art, not even song
And every decision I make leads me further to my grave, with a cry out I said your name
And poured my affection into grand gestures, cause I was the greatest jester of them all
For thinking that there’d be any return on my investment, for going in the wrong direction
My purity was like a child’s cause I kept my innocence, but I’d lose it to the right guy any minute

I’m lost inside the past, I’ve forgotten my future
And my present is misery, I’m not who I’m supposed to be
Fighting with this smile on my face, all I feel is your pain
And I wish I could heal it, you’ll be in a better place someday

I don’t want to give myself to the wrong one, I just want to find you
Cause love escapes all my senses, not my heart, not giving chances
And everybody I became friends with I left behind, with a cry out I wanted you back in my life
I wish I could feel your sunshine, cause without your love I’ve died
When I meet you again for the first time, I’ll wrap my arms around you now that this is different
My purity was gone when I gave it to a sinner, but its been found in your bright presence

I’m lost inside the past, I’ve forgotten my future
And my present is misery, I’m not who I’m supposed to be
Fighting with this smile on my face, all I feel is your pain
And I wish I could heal it, you’ll be in a better place someday

So say goodbye, cause you’ll forget me, and I’m okay without you missing me
So take my hand, make me come alive again, I’d be lost without your smile
You can’t help me self-deny, you only encourage me to be alive
There’s nothing better than what comes after, when the tribulation’s done
Cause your broken body gives out, for you to accept a better one

I’m lost inside the past, I’ve forgotten my future
And my present is misery, I’m not who I’m supposed to be
Fighting with this smile on my face, all I feel is your pain
And I wish I could heal it, you’ll be in a better place someday

About this poem

This poem is about being discontent with your own life and basking in shame of actions you take despite it never working out in your favor, but in the back of your mind, putting it down to recognize the pain of someone you truly care about.

Honestly I don't understand it nor do I feel it flows well. The ideas seem jumbled.

Nil Desperandum. Do not succumb to pain or desperation. It's good that you write it down. The only way to know you've overcome these adversities is when you go back and re-read this poem and realize that you have survived it.

My comments would serve you better if I were a therapist. Perhaps writing this poem was therapeutic. If so, write more.

This 'your pain' poem is deeply emotional and beautifully written. The way you express your feelings of longing, loss, and hope for a better future is heartfelt and touching. The imagery and emotions conveyed through your words are powerful and evocative.

One improvement suggestion could be to focus on creating a clearer structure or narrative flow for the poem. At times, the transitions between thoughts and emotions feel a bit abrupt, which can make it challenging for the reader to follow the progression of the speaker's feelings and experiences. Working on organizing the poem in a more cohesive and structured manner could help enhance its impact and readability.

Overall, your poem captures the raw intensity of human emotions and the complexities of love and loss. Keep writing and exploring your emotions through your poetry, as your words have the power to resonate deeply with others. Well done!
