PTSD Valentine's Day

Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
I'd do anything to not think of you.
You haunt my dreams,
tell me lies.
All the screams,
it's just a dream is what I don't realize.

I begged you to leave me alone,
Even locked doors you couldn't be stopped.
Sometimes I can still smell your teakwood cologne,
The thought of you makes my heart drop.
You always said I'm sorry,
but were you?
All you ever did was make me worry,
Now all I have left is the scary ghost of you.

About this poem

I wrote this poem on Valentine's while thinking of that certain someone. I'm sure you have that someone pictured in your mind too. It contains things that were once a part of my daily life. I hope this doesn't trigger people too much.
