God's Children 1953 (New York)

GOD'S CHILDREN

When children are born
We love them forever
Sometimes we scorn
To protect us from whatever

To see them smile
Is something you treasure
Hoping they will be here for a while
To give us some pleasure

When their life is taken away
You wonder why
You sit down and pray
And all you can do is cry

They are now our angels
Looking down on us to say
They remember me today
Because my family came here to pray

I wrote this poem to help people who loose a child.
