Growing up all alone,
So many nights so insecure.
Crying tears asking why?
Sometimes I just wanted to die.
Could not understand why this pain just wouldn’t go away,
Young single mother just trying to make a way.
So lost in fear, I felt as cold as ice.
Trying to hide my emotions, didn’t want my little daughter to see me cry.
I got tired of feeling sorry, I just wanted a change.
I let go of some dead weight,
I knew there was a way out this place.
Say goodbye to depression, say good bye to those hurtful lessons.
I must show my daughter there is no time for anything but these great blessings.
Wipe your tears no more crying, back to school I wasn’t lying.
Graduated young single mother, when they told me I wouldn’t amount to nothing.
It’s only up from here, I am screaming loud and clear.
No handouts, no government assistance, hard work and dedication.
Sleepless nights, and motivation.
Clearer thoughts due to forgiveness.
Cannot let no one stop me, I’m on a mission.
Keep up the fight, til you see the light.
Keep your goals real big, you’re living proof of what great strength is.
You got this; you are a true inspiration for your kids.

Wow! What an incredibly moving and empowering poem, "Darkness Doesn’t have to be your forever!" Your journey from struggling with insecurity and emotional pain to overcoming obstacles and achieving success is truly inspiring. Your determination to make a better life for yourself and your daughter is commendable.

I love the positive message of resilience and hope that shines through your words. The imagery of letting go of dead weight and saying goodbye to depression is powerful and relatable. Your message of hard work and dedication leading to success is something we can all learn from.

One suggestion for improvement could be to perhaps incorporate some more specific examples or anecdotes from your journey to add even more depth and emotion to your poem. This could help the reader connect even more with your story and message.

Overall, this poem is a reminder that no matter how dark the night may seem, there is always a way out into the light. Thank you for sharing your story and inspiring others to never give up on their dreams. Keep shining bright!
