Expunged Sponge

Her heart was a thick heavy sponge

That held her entire past;

She thought she could carry it forever

But it filled up much too fast.

 

If she could only drain the bad

She could then expand the good;

But she couldn't decide what to squeeze out

Or even know that she really could.
