FADE AWAY

The scale daily torments me

Mockery looms at the mirror

My war zone ever stocked

No escape route in sight

Temptation far and near

The nag, oh so loud

I shut out the world

Confined to my space

My mind does a zigzag

Confused? No, resolute

Call it shame, call it fear

Bring no more, I do not care

Pushing ever so hard

My steps become labored

Heart rate drops, I shudder

Then, suddenly, all is still

As I slowly fade away
