THE VOICE IN MY HEAD

Date Written: October 9, 2017

The jury gave a verdict

The judge passed the judgement

Surely he meant someone else

Or, was it me?

A big mistake I say

Although I pulled the trigger

And yes I plunged the axe

As harmless as a dove

I never killed a soul

A moment is all I need

To set the record straight

“It needed be done” it said

“Why me?” but refuse I could not

Even when my love forbade it

I beg of you have mercy

For surely you are mistaken

If only they would listen

If only it would speak now

But it chose to remain silent

That resounding voice in my head
