Regression to the Mean

“No matter how bad, or even how good things get, they will always come back to the middle.”

Yes, things are bad right now,
Trust me on this, I know.
In your skies, there are clouds,
And your tears will soon flow.
You are hurting inside,
And your light is dimming.
You’ve no one to confide,
And your thoughts are brimming.
You feel as though you will never be redeemed
From this pain that you feel.
But first hear my “Regression to the mean.”
Because I promise you’ll heal.
It may not be tomorrow,
But you will smile.
One day you’ll feel the wind blow,
But it may take a while.
I’ll be here ‘till the end,
Whatever I need to do.
You are my friend,
And I will always love you.

    And your light is dimming.
    You’ve no one to confide,
    And your thoughts are brimming”
