The Words of Theseus

She spoke;
 I listened,
 Jotting down each word —
Letter-by-letter.

Later,
 I lost my notes.
 (Gone forever.)
“Poof!”

Occasionally,
 I’d recall
 Two words, maybe three —
Here-and-there.

Eventually,
 I’d educed
 Nearly every golden phrase —
Or so I hoped …

But, now,
 Dare I say,
 These are …
“The Words of Theseus”?
