Untitled

Date Written: September 13, 2017

I saw you there, half of your body crushed

into a black tar death zone

The wing on your good side spasms upward

towards the sky you lived to breeze through

Why is it so unfair?

The wisp of the wind slips out of your feathers

But I saw you there

Small and insignificant,

still in obvious agony.
