There's A Heart That Burns

each of us goes through things in life

amidst the pain of doom & gloom

we live on barrowed time

as a young child I used to dream

of far off places with kings & queens

dragons with a fire breathing aparatus

would retreat to solitude alone in my room

looked at the way life turned to simple things

inside I have a heart that burns

another bridge to cross or even burn

although those many years would pass

still I have every reason to grasp

the moral of this story

every book I ever read

every song I ever sang

every right which I have been wronged

who am I to blame

if there's a rose it bare's a thorne

you curse the day you were actually born

so arm me with harmony

I'll be the person that I want to be

this is my chief aim & destiny

locked inside I hide as a hunted wolf

giving it one good push to get noticed

I sat the bottle down for rhymes of getting down

the sweat beat from my brow

a beacon of light to a hurting world in need of love

don't ever try to sweep things underneath the rug

look above to help you get by

never in a substance that makes you get high

only one life will soon be passed

only what's done for love will last

the imprint on the saviors hand

will help you live to understand

a challenge to be free is a question of time

a heart that burns down to the wire

burning to quench your inner desire

So is this heart felt rhyme
