Insurmountable

Reminiscing

Trying to recall a touch

Morning breaks

I'm awake

Present is here,

The past, a phantom

I flee to the horizon

Driving on dirt and rock

The Bend called my name

Natural springs

Natural me

Shivering in the night,

I had to get out

To touch the stone

Insurmountable

Mountain of regret

These days

Your peak fills my head

And I'll keep hiking

Still hiking

To the stream I knew

I heard that

the sun can clear a path,

That camp can be found

Even with meager means

My spirit is so full

Remember the wind

Coyote howls

Stars shine

Roots deep in the earth

Where I can grow

My heart is there

And I'm trying to find the way to go

Insurmountable

Mountain of regret

These days

Your peak fills my head

And I'll keep hiking

Still hiking

To the stream I knew

The moon still shines

I'll keep hiking

To the dream I knew
