A Bubble Of Water
I’m just a bubble of water
Up tossed by an ocean wave
That was dandled briefly by the wind
Before merging away in Time’s raging maelstrom
One dateless afternoon
Upon a nameless section of the sea.
A shot of spittle
Spat by the stuttering ocean
That has enclosed some air
And sparkled in the sun
Which, for a moment has been
But cannot be ever again.
Which for coming decades of silence
Must lie reposed in unending prayer
Among the congregation of sleepwalking swells
Where water and wind pray together
Glad for one afternoon
Of flight and self reflection.
