Jewels of the Morning

Rain in the night; clear skies at break of day,
what a beautiful sight for this morning of May.
The world greets the soul, wrapped in glittering jewels,
rain drops off leaves as translucent Pearls.

I look at the trees all rust, red and yellow,
Garnet, Rubies and Gold; my mood becomes mellow.
I look to a sky of brightest Blue Topaz,
and valleys of Emeralds with Amethyst haze.

The sun strikes the raindrops, creating prisms of light,
the wonder; like seeing an eagle in flight.
Birdsong begins with voices of liquid crystal,
sound carries to my ear on a light, bracing mistral

Remember; take time to really see God’s creation,
He made it just for you and your spirit’s elation.
Don’t be too busy to see what the Earth is adorning.
her best, and her finest, jewels of the morning
