Lessons learned

Do not worry if my mind goes blank
And my bodies still intact
Please forgive the things I say
And forgive the way I act
Lessons here we're learning
Although you may wonder why
I'll tell you things you may not know
At least I'm sure I'll try
Our souls are on a journey
Lessons learned the great reward
Moving ever closer to
The Being we call Lord
It may be hard to comprehend this
We will suffer many times
But dealing with these hardships
Are the lessons of our life
I hope the pain and mental torture
Disappear the day we die
Only then we will realize
We truly are alive

The many pains in life are something we all sometimes ponder.  The Whys?  But many times as we look back we can see our growth in spite of the pain and yes sometimes torment.  The key is keeping our focus on the Lord and not our circumstance. I recall even Peter had a challenge with this as he saw Jesus walking on water, with his hand extended to Peter.  For the moments his eyes were on Jesus, he also was walking on water, but the moment his focus shifted to the storm he began to sink.  Oh if we could only remain focussed on Jesus, we too could walk on water through our storms. Beautiful expressed and I especially love the last stanza.  "What a day that will be."    Thank you for sharing.

I liked what you wrote, and resonates beautifully with your theme of dealing with hard times, about being grateful that you're still alive and breathing. It was very deep and heartfelt. Well done.
