# 526 States of Emotion

Sometimes I wish I was more cerebral
Instead of going on my emotions,
Often being quite fortuitous
Without the thought up potions.
\Doldrums come more frequently
When I'm feeling put down
Wishing for a state of jollity
It's best to chase away a frown.
I'm covetous of others' stalwartness
When things are not quite as they should.
I sure wish that I could promenade
Through life's measure being understood
And patience sometimes I seem to lack
Arrogating past the stumbling blocks
Sometimes with much ballyhoo
Oh! if only I could push the time on clocks!

We all have different emotions at different times.  Sometimes it is interesting to think about them and realize them in yourself. This poem was published in my gift book called "Think in New Words" which I wrote to encourage myself not to get stuck in a rut of same words. Rhyming poetry is more challenging that way.

Sometimes I wish I was more cerebral
Instead of  just going on my emotions,
Often being found just quite fortuitous
Without the thought up of much potions.
Doldrums come in more and frequently
When  I at times feel I am just put down
Wishing always  for a better state of jollity
With It's best to chase away all ill  frowns.
I'm covetous of others' and their stalwarts
When things are not quite as they should.
I just wish I could more like a promenade
Through life's measure being understood
Sometimes I seem to lack patience much
Arrogating past and  the stumbling blocks
Sometimes felt  with too much ballyhoo
Oh! if only I could push the time on clocks!

I too am often envious of those who are seemingly stoic. I guess that's what makes us writers though. Your diction is impeccable and takes this work to another level. Thoroughly enjoyed your candor.

Very nice.  Yes it is upbeat. A woman's strife mixed in the words.
