Trees Aflame

User by Anna K
The trees sport colors bright
Reds
Oranges
And Yellows
Like nature's art
They burst from the trees
Reds
Oranges
And Yellows
Like colors burst from a page
The trees are ablaze in
Hues of
Reds
Oranges
And Yellows
But a flame burning bright
Won't burn long
See the fading
Reds
Oranges
And Yellows
The flames die out and fall
As ashes
Shriveled remnants of what once was
Red
Orange
And Yellow

The Earth sleeps
Beneath a blanket of frost
Or is it dead and buried?
Will
Reds
Oranges
And Yellows
Ever be seen again?

This poem is about how at first the trees seem like they are burning with color, but that before you realize it, they are gone. The last verse talks about how in the winter, spring seems like it might never come.
