Fallen Angel

My wings drooping without life
smeared with black, raged and dying
The halo above me dimming
as though no will to shine remains
My eyes fail to shimmer and sparkle
As the darkness eats me from the inside
so much darkness and so little light
such a tiny flame flickering in the breeze
Happiness through sleep
Where light constitutes all my dreams
I need a fire to warm myself by
not just a pathetic candle
Who's there to hold up the mirror
to show the light inside
to scrub away the black
to fix my broken wings?
