Sad Day, the Flag is Still

To late to walk away, there is little I have to say.
Our greatest fears are pouring out and
We must face them as they spin about..
Our greatest strength is in unity's chain, together
We face the pleasures and pain..
On this day long ago, we watched our father go..
We thought perhaps he would return, but his
End is what we learn.
One by one, we pulled apart, 'til all remained
was a broken heart.....
War is cruel it takes the best, and leaves many
sorrow's which find no rest...
I'm not a soldier, yet I've seen war..
Our Father's Flag fly's at half, his sacrifice,
The ultimate price..
We honor him this day.....Our grief
Is what war can pay in every word
And every way...
What these eyes have seen is hard to say...
The Flag is still, on this sad day..

In memory
Of Brenda Butter and her family (Vietnam)
