Caribbean Tranquility

A dream of a life-time,
to the caribbean sea.
Won't you join me too ?
Not a cloud in the sky,
perfect blue.

As you walk through
gardens, adorned with
coconut palms,
you can hear the gentle
rolling of the sea,
as the water's wash over
the beach.
The sounds inviting and
now within reach.

You have now reached
the caribbean shores.
White sand, warm, soft
under your feet,
stretching for miles in either
direction.
There is only you on this
beach,
standing, breathing slowly,
relaxing, serene, calm and
tranquil.
Such a treat !

Between two palms,
there is a rope hammock.
Climbing aboard, it gently rocks
in rhythm with the sound of
the sea and you drift off
to sleep,
with a slight breeze, fanned by
the palm.
You are at peace, comforted
and undisturbed,
indulging in sheer unadulterated
calm.

Soon, you awake, before
the sun is too hot and
you leave the hammock,
refreshed and make your
way back,
from a long awaited,
well earned break !

The poem, 'Caribbean Tranquility,' is composed by having and giving thought to guided imagery for the purpose of relaxation techniques. It is desired to give the reader a sense of being on a calming journey whilst still being aware of their own surroundings. V J Gatenby (Author)
