In March, In Step, All Trampled in Fury

People, they steeped, stepping,
they thought necessarily nerved,
and I, not knowing kindly why.

I could not keep my questions,
my quizzical nature of needing,
knowledge of why things were.

How they hurried here this time,
in such comical canters chosen,
they came chancing my company.

And I picking my puzzlements,
these refined emotes unencountered,
of torments you thought therapeutic.

Assonance, alliteration, creativity, honesty, questioning. I liked this very much. I found your alliteration in particular to stand out to me. I struggle to use it in a way that doesn't sound childish and humorous. and if I were to quote a part of this poem, I would say the second stanza is most revealing, most relatable, and has a fantastic rhythm that i really enjoy repeating over and over.
Jessie Ní Leacaí More than 1 year ago
Thank you, I use a lot of alliteration as I am a huge fan of Poe. I appreciate your kind comments, thank you very much and delighted you enjoyed my work

I was thinking Poe from the beginning, but I didn't want to say anything because your work stands out to me alone as it is just wonderfully. Its a treat, really.

"My quizzical nature of needing". that, in itself, really shows how much you put in to your work. your mind is never on pause from the things i have read. Your work is amazing and i am going to boost those 3 star non thinkers with 5000 stars! very well done Ms. Jessie

I am one of the 3* you mentioned.
Jessie Ní Leacaí More than 1 year ago
NO YOU ARE NOT GRAY MATTER. YOU HAVE TO RATE THE POEM NOT COMMENT UNDER RATINGS.. SEE WHAT I HAVE TO DEAL WITH???
Jessie Ní Leacaí More than 1 year ago
Thanks Edward, plenty of idiots on this site.. ie Gray Matter below. Thank you again for your comments. I hope this Gray Matter person gets banned from the site..
Jessie Ní Leacaí More than 1 year ago
Gray Matter, intolerable fool. I have just taught you a lesson. Now clear off my poetry page.
Edward Willard More than 1 year ago
Yes Gray matter, and I have seen several piles of brown matter that turn gray after laying in the sun for days on end but yes, you are one of the 3 stars I MEANT! Wether it matters to you or not. Little you can do about it setting behind a hidden screen and only Talking. Just saying!
Dustin ... More than 1 year ago
I'm surprised Al would give this only 3. I cant' read this without hearing a man's voice narrate it in my head (the voice I've associated with Poe, lol. I think its fantastic.
Jessie Ní Leacaí More than 1 year ago
Gray Matter is Trolling like the troll that he is. I am going to teach his detestable character a lesson or two. I am not to be messed with nor will I tolerate anyone else being insulted on this site. This site is for constructive criticism not for trolls!
Ashley Martin More than 1 year ago
Wow, that is amazing, most of my poems are really depressing.
Jessie Ní Leacaí More than 1 year ago
it's amazing and you gave 3 stars?!! that makes NO SENSE...
Jessie Ní Leacaí More than 1 year ago
PLEASE DO NOT RATE MY POETRY AGAIN IF YOU'RE GOING TO PULL THIS CARRY ON, IT'S JUST IGNORANT TO BE HONEST

GRAY MATTER.. AGAIN... STOP COMMENTING UNDER POSTS. YOU ARE NOT RATING POETRY.
Gray Matter More than 1 year ago
I read your poems and I give you stars what I think your work is worth. I will not pander you with outrages superlatives to feed your insatiable ego. If that is what you want (more stars) then write better poetry.
Jessie Ní Leacaí More than 1 year ago
GRAY MATTER YOU HAVE NOT BEEN REVIEWING MY POETRY. COMMENTING UNDER OTHER PEOPLE'S RATINGS DOES NOT EQUATE TO A REVIEW. WHY DON'T YOU GO AND THINK ABOUT THAT NOW. BUT DON'T HURT YOURSELF NOW
Jessie Ní Leacaí More than 1 year ago
Also 'Empty Matter' as you will now be known, you have not given me any stars what so ever. You have commented and insulted. There is a difference between reviewing and being a troll. You are being the latter. I have 14 pages of poetry on here. I do not claim it as great like you say your work is 'written by the Gods!' Oh dear, talk about audacity in the highest form of your head being floating up 'Uranus' :)

Daniel Alasdair Mclachlan Gauld More than 1 year ago
many supposed 'reviewers" hurry, or are too lazy to read, meditate & intuit poems that are not a superficial cliched rhyming imitated structure arrangement
Jessie Ní Leacaí More than 1 year ago
It's time for happy slapping I think!
Gray Matter More than 1 year ago
Yea, not because it was deep.
Jessie Ní Leacaí More than 1 year ago
Gray Matter.. I don't see your so called 3 star rating.. why don't you try rating my poetry instead of making such ridiculous comments..
