death shall set you free

As thorns linger beneath your dying skin
Evaporating from a soul of angst
All that once you wished to be
Hatred sprouts from seeds of guilt
In childhood times you reminisce
And death shall set you free

Bitterness now you’re welcome friend
Cigarette smoke swirls in abundant stench
The narrowing path wandering hopeless
Soon the path will all but cease to be
Deep inside you await release
And death shall set you free

Your skin leathering  as fast decaying
You dare not scrape the slightest smile
From a withered face of bitter anger
With age be but  as life’s debris
Painful tears and sorrow pass
And death shall set you free

i don't think i officially rated this. You know I love this piece. There is so much hope and freedom in this poem even though the main theme is death. It somehow makes me feel good to read it.

means to say----"Life is infidel, one day it will left us but death is the beloved who will take us along with her" .......It's a famous Indian bollywood song

That line was flawless, just flawless. And your poem is very true. Death will take us away from the cruelties and injustice that this world has to offer, transporting us to a better place. It's just a matter of time. Make the most of the life you have now before true freedom transpires.

Written very well. Death does set some of us free, especially if our bodies are broken and just chains holding our souls here. I also sensed more from this, like you were saying that you will only be able to set someone free with forgiveness with their death. What ever is behind the poem you wrote it well. I hope it helped the pain to get it down.
