About Me and My Poetry

I was born in Nurenberg, Germany. Both of my parents are American, and I am greatful to be an American. I was born with glaucoma, and have had problems with my vision my entire life. Yet I still played baseball and was involved in boyscouts and martial arts as a boy. In my teens, I battled with drugs, and alchohol and (like everyone else,) a less than perfect upbringing. At 16 I dropped out of highschool, but now have a college degree. I've been through a lot, and these experiences have made me more empathetic to those around me, because in some way or another, I have suffered a similar experience myself. I cannot beleave the life I live now. I am a Christ follower (although I am far from perfect, and I am repulsed by my own sins.) Married for 14 years this December, with one daughter. Its been a wild ride, and it will likely continue to be so...

People are flowers.
Beautiful. Delicate. Temporary.
Some have thorns that stick.
Some have deep roots, some are shallow.
Some have nectar, they are so sweet.
Some are like daisies, they hide in the crowd.
Some are exotic, you’ll never see them again.
Some are perennials, you can always count on them.
Some will lose their petals, their zeal for life.
Some will bloom early; they are full of youth.
Some will bloom later; they are wise.
Some can make tea; they are sweat.
Some can be bitter; they are poison.
Some can live in the sun; they love life.
People are flowers.
Beautiful. Delicate. Temporary.

Eyes shine as if they compete against the moon.
Shapely curves contort and twist in my mind.

Three kings, men of wisdom, followed it’s path
To worship the newborn King of Earth and Heaven.
