About Me and My Poetry

First & foremost I've been this lost soul (desperado ) sent to Earth ( but bent on Hell ) who could never put a name on who I am . I've been more bad than good , more worthless than worthwhile , more thickheaded & stubborn than most , always was & always will be that problematic child ... even at 58 ... I'm nice & kind but mean & ornery especially those next of kin. I been banged up & busted , locked up , shanghaied , been hurt , hated , despised more than most , but still mustered enough strength & sensibility to see me through each day. I feel old sometimes , still that broken soul seeking that second chance ,even though I know there aren't any . I drive down each day that boulevard of broken dreams , with empty pockets no longer filled with any worth. I've been called many things that have stuck with me through the years , while there's that crowd waiting for me to fail.. only to say : " I told you so " I have been a lover of plenty of women whose slick words could charm the panties off many a gal . I've been known to be extremely violent but gentle & kindhearted of a man. I've been known as a wiseman , a shaman of sorts , whose conjured words have been said to heal a broken soul , I have been scarred with addictions that almost took away my lifesbreath , I've walked the earth a zombie to fucked up to give a shit , but just held on to that little bit of light ( supposedly God ) that somehow miraculously kept me alive . I have been homeless a good portion of my teenage years traveled across America ... New York to California , Texas , Wyoming , Utah , florida .... I've seen the belly of this beast we call America ... seen the good the bad the treacherous , the evil , the unjust. Seen supposed friends , family turn there backs on me while I laid in the gutter with no mind or will to live at all. I've ridden motorcycles all my life ( never wore a patch ) but gave respect as well , admired the lifestyle , but all the while pretty much of my own self made wildman ... disturbed in everyway imaginable ...always holding my own , broad shoulder , a big set of balls & a punch that packs a wallop to be sure. *So who am I.... I guess I'll never know ... just a dude that's alive & got no where to go. Why I even believe there are those that might take some real interest in the writings of just a simple man who lost his way long ago. Patrick O'Regan

I stand grounded in my convictions (which incidentally have been proven wrong sometimes) that my purposeful actions & thoughts are based in a loving & caringly consciousness & way of being that embrace whoever or whatever comes before me. I don't get caught up in emotionally redundant articles of hateful misdirected generalizations . I root my "light " in embracing those that are different as a gift that this world gives. What I am basically trying to get across is that if each of us entirely give up ( or buy into ) this crap , what does this say about us as a people. There are those many out there in this complex world that need real genuine help & those that need redirecting from the toxic brew whose stench violates the ears , mind & soul of many. Where are all those in the world that give a positive light of mutual individual respect & common decency for all. I've seen as far back as a child how f*ck*d up this world truly is. The truth is the good majority of all people strive for the basic needs & struggle immensely for what little we have . It just seems normal ordinary people lives are changing drastically in mayhem , while wondering what the next days events will bring. Here today is a power elite worldwide that reaps the vast majority of income , while the pockets of poverty & despair are at global levels of upheaval , atrocities at a genocidal level. So where does all that leave us. Do we buy into this unstably thought of self destruction, or do we come together united with a general consensus for all humanity. Where are the great minds that could be pulling us all together into a sea of humanity. One hand greets another & so on. Somewhere , some one will rise with those one words to set us on a combined path . Living wages , food on the table , roof over your head , & a family (many generations) gathered round. That seems to fit the bill for many in common decency
