The Neanderthals are having a meeting
about how the Cro-Magnons-Homo Sapiens Sapiens
are defacing calcite cave walls with frightening images
of animals that they are rendering in charcoal and ochre

They have seen these depictions flicker and move most menacingly
in the dancing firelight, so the Neanderthals have decided to move to Mars
and will travel there by shaman drum, which they will ride astride and beat
until they arrive there, on the Red Planet, blinking and bewildered in the weak small sun
