If you find this writing,
and if I have already gone, be not sad, be not afraid,
I have returned to my assignment in eternity
where I have come from, so I have been there, to that black place, before
and know it's dark courts, with their thumping games
their whisper crowds, their vacuum gravitas

One of you, has my talisman
I would like you to leave it
on the old bench, in the park
within the woods between the worlds
I will find it to light my way, for my road seems dark as night
and I am weary beyond words
but will press on, somehow, some wild way will go on
so that I may find you

in some forgotten dream
where we may meet,
both asleep
but seeing each others facelessness
before we were borne
by phantom wind
to this namelessness
these shades of black nothing
in which we are both
but shadow-shades

Full moon aloft, shining bright
with its borrowed silver light

Above the clouds reflected beams
Sneak through windows, in whitened streams

of bounced sunlight off ancient face
a neighbor world in its place

Above the blessed blue green Earth
Our mother planet which gives us birth

And nourishment, the very air
our atmosphere, we're glad it's there
