About Me and My Poetry

Born in Oxford, raised in Kenya, and came to America as a Fulbright Scholar to study dentistry at U.S.C., Dr McLeod is past winner of Los Slamgeles Poetry Slam and author of abitingchance.blogspot.com and "The First Thanksgiving". Doctor McLeod is a performing poet who has recited at Highland Games, dinners and Burns Nights for the last 36 years. In September 1951, fresh up from Mombasa we rode in my father’s green government issue Ford truck.  It had a home made hutch cover with swing door over the back.  We stayed at Neil Stewart, my Godfather’s place for a couple of days, camping on their enclosed porch.  I found my first Chamaeleon in the orange tree on his lawn.
