Nil Desperandum. Do not succumb to pain or desperation. It's good that you write it down. The only way to know you've overcome these adversities is when you go back and re-read this poem and realize that you have survived it.

I love this. The sentiment, the honesty, the reality; it's all so sad but true.
Very nicely worded. I like the rhyming pattern too. I've used it myself a few times.

If you can, please review some of my other poems because I would love your opinions and it might encourage me to submit more stuff. Peace, love, word!

Thanks. The words and mental images sort of happened spontaneously and in syncronicity. I'm grateful you appreciate the lyrical effort. :)

So true, so true. The Eternal/Internal question. Is it me, or the man in the mirror? Nicely rhymed.

As a Father and Grandfather, I totally get this wish.

I'm also very keen on Rainbows.

I enjoyed this poem and its easy, comfortable flow. I, too, have been inspired by birds and other of nature's wonderful lessons and reminders. We could all learn from the birds & beasts how to better cope with life's indignities.
Sometimes things aren't as tragic as we make them out to be.
