A student of life, weaving my heart into any lesson I've been put through. I have a multitude of personal identities I hold close to my heart and strive to share my experiences with the rest of the world who is interested in hearing them.

Dreams on B Street

I wanted the world.
I wanted the world to see my face
full of honey dew droplets.
I wanted the world to see my face
as I stand outside in the rain,
arms by my side staring into the light
of that stoplight over there.
It's stuck on red.

The poem portrays a common fight against life, how sometimes when in a lot of emotional or even physical pain, we feel like giving up. The poet presents an alternative, showing that if someone chooses to fly (keep going), they might actually get somewhere. However, death leads to a finite end where the end is the absolute severing of said achievements, of said life, of said dreams that seem to be never met. Although I did not get to all of the poems; I believe that out of all the poems I read, the poet kept a steady flow of words while being able to catch my interest.
