This poem is head and shoulders above the rest. A true gift for unusual and evocative word combinations. As well, it is free from the introspective and self-indulgent tendencies of many of the poems here.

Here's an odd contradiction. AZQuotes.com attributes the following quoute to Road to Hirschau, this section. It isn't here?

The moon is hidden behind a cloud... On the leaves is a sound of falling rain... No other sounds than these I hear; The hour of midnight must be near...
