The Conductor

When I was young, I was obsessed with Peter Pan.
Of the boy who never grew up, I was certainly a fan.
With child wonder and imagination so bright,
I would dream about one day soaring the skies at night.

A very thought-provoking and poignant piece, connecting both inconsequential and devastating numbers to show the passage of time, is beautifully done here. My favourite line "Oh, the number of candles on birthday cakes that
Symbolise victory and sometimes heartache" This resonates with me deeply as we don't often talk about the sense of loss that comes with birthdays as you get older. Thank you for sharing this. It's wonderful. Best of luck with the competition
