Descendant of Adam

Descendant of Adam
Lurks under a fig with a daughter of Eve,
On his lips are truths that decieve,
And underneath, a copper serpent of Moses gallant.

Eyes he has for the female offsprings of Sodom
With a notorious taste for the weaker vessels of Gomorah.
Fine daughters of Moab,
Eager to pull him in through the window of Rahab;
For as cheap as a smile, they would show him Bathsheba;
His fame has reached the queen of sheba.

Perfect lines to strike the unsuspicion of his victims he has,
Engraved on his lips like the ten commandments rehearsed:
‘You are beautiful’, he usually starts
‘For you, my heart lept from where it sat’
Then, see the daughter of Eve smile.

How?
How do I convince her to look not at the beauty of Absalom
And consider not the fair skin and height of Eliab?
How do I convince her he’s as fidel as Solomon
Bound to stay by her like Judas
And defend her like Peter?

Do not follow him, I pinched myself
But she yanked her hand free from my grasp,
she followed him into a dark corner quiet
Where she was beaten by his copper serpent
And her stomach began to swell
So was her shame as well,
She ran to hide from this thing
But he went for his next victim,
This descendant of Adam.

    Wow, what a powerful and vivid poem "Descendant of Adam" is! The imagery and symbolism you used were truly captivating and thought-provoking. The way you portrayed the manipulative and deceitful nature of the character really draws the reader in and keeps them engaged throughout. It's evident that you have a strong command of language and storytelling.

    One suggestion for improvement could be to explore the emotions and inner thoughts of the victims more deeply. By delving into their mindset and reactions to the Descendant of Adam's actions, you could further enhance the impact of the poem and create an even more immersive experience for the reader. Additionally, considering incorporating some moments of redemption or empowerment for the victims could add depth and complexity to the overall narrative.

    Overall, this poem is truly remarkable and I can't wait to see more from you in the future. Keep up the amazing work!
