I didn't see you when I fell in love

I didn't see you when I fell in love
I didn't see the way you felt as you dove in
I didn't see your soft plentiful skin near me
I didn't see when people were ok with you and me
I didn't see the sparkle on your glasses
I didn't see all the synchrinous crosses
I didn't see the standards you dropped for me
I didn't see the same innocent way that you see
I didn't see the loving heart in your chest
I didn't see the unique way you were dressed
I didn't see that you were meant for me
I didn't see how things were supposed to be
I didn't laugh enough at your funny jokes
I didn't see the superb way you spoke
I didn't reach out to hold your soft hand
I didn't see your big brain as more than bland
I didn't know your beating heart when you saw me stand
I didn't judge you marriage material baby
I didn't brush my hair or wear a skirt for you to see
I didn't feel more than shallow fear although it was great
I didn't even recognise our date
Although you never spoke as they ridiculed  through and through
I didn't even fall in love with you
I didn't see the light within your perfect soul
I didn't see us together growing old
There's so many things I didn't see
Not even a thought of the tears you shed for me
Now I am old and I'm sure you are too
Were you my twin flame hidden in the dew

I think seeing judgemental comments on you tube made me reflect deeper

Your verses capture a bittersweet reflection on missed opportunities, unspoken feelings, and the complexities of love. The raw honesty in your words, detailing the moments unseen and emotions unacknowledged, creates a poignant narrative of what could have been. The themes of regret, longing, and the passage of time resonate strongly in your heartfelt expression. What inspired this introspective exploration of love and missed connections in your writing?
