I WISH I DIDN'T KNOW

Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)

I WISH I DIDN'T KNOW

We told a story of love unending
But I guess we were just pretending
Lost in a sea, of broken promises and dreams
Our perfect love tore apart at the seems
Now I know, how to drown as a pro
So many things I wish I didn't know

Sometimes I wish time would unwind
Maybe this way, a better way we'd find
The tide washed our sandy love away
We couldn't hear what we had to say
Now I know, it's better to let go
So many things I wish I didn't know

I remember every word we said that night
The last time we could've made it right
But I let the waves pull me back out to sea
Who ever said that loneliness is free?
Now I know, that pain helps us to grow
So many things I wish I didn't know

I've told the tale of love’s sad ending
Time has passed, and hearts are mending
Our darkest times may seem like Hell
But it's those times we learn to sail
Now I know, love has much more to show
So many things I wish I didn't know

Yeah …you know
There's so many things..
…I wish I didn't know
