What Are The Chances

Our relationship is taking a road I've never traveled before. How I feel about you is familiar, yet very different. I don't want to make any mistakes, or ruin the moments we have, and have yet to share.

I want everything to be perfect, I want this to be the love of a lifetime. I want it to be something we will never forget. Something that even after years have gone by, we can look at each other, and know without a word spoken, how much affection, and love we share together.

I want there to be an unspeakable bond between us, that nothing, or no one can break. I want us to live our lives together, through one another, for one another, with one another. I don't want to think about anything but you, in some way, every minute of every day.

I want to feel empty inside when I look and you're not there. I want to be forced to smile, no matter how trivial the day may be, just thinking of your lips, and the way you look when we kiss.

I want to feel desperate when you're not around, I want you to be happy and laugh, even if it means I will play the clown.

All my life I've been a dreamer, and it's true that I will always be. But the biggest part of the dream, since you have come into my life, seems to becoming a very real reality.

"Numi" is the pen-name I adopted in 2007 after a friend gifted me a copy of The Essential Rumi; by Coleman Barks. After reading some of my works, it was suggested that it reminded them of the works by Rumi. In no way do I align myself with this Great Master Poet, but I do feel a deep connection to his poetry, and the book of Essentials was my constant companion during a 5 year saga, where I was stranded in the Amazon Jungle of Peru, from 2010-2015. more…
