You'll Find Me in My Room

You’ll Find Me in My Room

My space has been invaded. It is a vacuum devoid of oxygen he has greedily sucked up.

My house resembles his overcrowded mind; I can't move without hitting a heap of clothes or a nerve putting me in the line of his fire.

Mantras of retribution, misery and loneliness explode out of his mouth - a nonstop diatribe of anger towards his family who left him “to die”.

Had I seen this coming, I would have
better protected myself.

Much has been said about saving someone else before putting on your own oxygen mask.
