Cruel Smile

There she was
walking hand in hand
with my best friend George.
He had the decency to look away in shame
but he looked me into the eye
smiled a cruel smile
and casually said, "Hi bestfriend"

With a steeled determination, not to cry
I made it all the way home.
Locked the door. Unopened.
I unlocked the door to my heart
and jagged tears bit my face
I cried until I was empty
Enough to heal thy heart
But tomorrow is a morning
To mourn for my unbreath flesh.
