In grade 10 English, I sat at the back of the class, chatting away and causing general havoc. I had been writing stories, poems, and songs since I was a young child. However, for some reason (pride?) I didn’t want anyone to know how much of a tortured soul I was. But my English teacher - he saw something in me, something deeper, and he encouraged me to be courageous with writing. Here, after 10 years of snuffing my voice, I am starting to set it free.
