Analysis of POWER WITHIN

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

I do not understand what it is that is exactly happening here. I can no longer see; I can no longer hear. Why is my heart racing and my voice getting louder by the second I make you hard with my words of protest? That's why you continue to play these games in hopes of fucking my head without knowing the strength of my mind.

Damn, whose feathers did I ruffle, whose cage did I shake, and whose wheaties did I piss in for this machine to send all its soldiers after me? Hell, I guess I'm shining so bright that I am blinding them, making them unable to see

I wear this target on my back with all their riches in my hand now, knowing that I must be strong, I can not back down, I must stand my ground and be my weapon in a war that the man has created in hopes of sedating a sleeping beast
