Middle School

Middle school
Life is different
We're older
More mature
Everything is so new
Life is so much harder
Things are no longer handed to us
Time goes by so much faster
Middle school
We begin to find ourselves
We find our style
Our people
Our interests
But we also find our insecurities
We begin to feel jealous
We begin to feel anxious
People form cliques
We lose friends
We gain friends
We can sometimes feel alone
Like there's no one who understands
Middle school
We realize our strengths
We realize our weaknesses
Our opinions change
Our beliefs are now our own
We no longer believe what people tell us to believe
We believe what we want to
We have strong opinions
We sometimes forget that opinions are not facts
We begin to argue
We begin to debate
Middle school
What once was as easy as going to someone and saying "I like your shirt let's be friends" is now as hard as finding courage to approach people and talk to them
We grow up
We change
We cry
We laugh
We smile
We frown
We find ourselves and who we are
Our mind is a prison
Our thoughts consume us
Why is it so hard to fit in
Because we're not supposed to
But we feel like people won't like us for who we truly are
We are young
We are kids
We don't know what to think
What to feel
Middle school
