Man by nature

Though, the green field lie,
Looking like a promising soil,
Yet not even a produce worth of price,
To reward the farmers toil.
Between a tiger and the hunter,
Between a head and a guillotine,
Between a wildfire and a storm,
Between the sun and the cloud,
The unforseen has turn to faith.
When our dusk turn to dawn,
When realisation slapped ourcriging brows,
Then the culture awaits in ambush,
Patiently for the farmers succide note,
Yet! the gloom will give way to the light,
And turning path clear pole,
The storm will bow to the prompting peace,
Last moment of glory will be restored,
Strangled opportunities reborn,
We shall then regain the dawn,
When the grasshopper pour forth it trembling note.

About this poem

This poem is a reflection of the African political system. The stanza one of the poem reveals how people in Africa are decieve by their political leaders and using them to achieve their inordinate ambitions. In stanza two, we can see the conflicting personalities between the leaders and the people. While the state is creating a dicotomy between the and the people, the masses on the other hand are seeing the leaders as their saviour, the consequence of this can be said to be "internal colonization". The stanza three reveals the aftermath hardship of our ignorance and sometimes greediness. The stanza four then reveal to us that though we might have been decieve by our political leader and may have made made bad choices of electing them but there is still a very great chance for us to right our wrongs and make Africa a better place for all.
