Why?

Why?

I would much rather
Have my body hurt
Rather than my heart

Why did you let me believe
That this world was kind enough
To give me water for my thirst?

Why did you let me believe
That this world won’t
Drown me deep underneath the thick waves?

Why did you let me believe
That this world won’t
Burn me within a flick of this raging fire?

Why did you let me believe
That for a moment
I could be the sunlight
In this dark world?

- Why?
