Free verse
                              I had a Dream

Was I asleep
As I lay on my bed?
With your head on my shoulder
Just breathing you in

That drive by the Ocean
The lunch by the Bay
The look that you gave me
Sweet things that you said

The promise, Tomorrow
Still fresh on my lips
I’ll take all your worries
And cast them aside

As I awoke with you by my side
A dream you would be
A dream
You and me
