THANK YOU LORD

About this poem

when I was 17 yrs old, I went to prison. I learned about God while I was locked up, just like most people do when they get incarcerated. But, about 2 weeks after being released, I met a man who was a preacher. He started really breaking down the bible for me, took me to church with him, and just helped me get back on my feet. He told me that we should always be thankful to the Lord. I was a young kid with no family and no sense of direction. Later one evening while I was sitting in my room at a halfway house, I was reading my Bible and started thinking about all the things I was thankful for that the Lord has helped me through, so I wrote this poem.  more »
