Echos

Terry Larkey 1985 (Liverpool)

Echos

Silence echoes in the empty void
 A vast chasm of nothingness
Not a sound fills the space
Not even light breaks the darkness

The silence is a canvas, it wants to be painted
Filled with the colour of dreams,
A blank space is ready to shape into a world of my own making

it hears my voice, respeaks my words sets me free to explore, to exist In new realms of possibility

I embrace the quietness and let it guide me For in its depths, I find inspiration, a place where I am unbound

About this poem

The poem is about the beauty and potential of silence and emptiness, which are often seen as negative or undesirable.
