Who are we?

Checking the calendar it was almost time for the crop to be cut,
My daughter hadn't returned home yet.
We loved each other, she was out for the crop cutting
I saw her sweat in the chilling winter and also a smile the moment she saw me.

"Have lunch!" I screamed to her
She didn't pay an eye and kept on working,
My daughter has always been determined,
I love her.
I poured warm water for her to drink
I love her, saw outside and that was the moment she entered,
She sat to have food ,she looked at me and smiled.

The days were passing faster , i saw her become older,
She used to spend nights and days cutting crops.
She daily came ate food and gave a big smile.
The nights were a calm place.

She used to wake me up at nights and tell me she was going off to work.
I could not thank god more.
She would always smile when she saw me.
I remember visiting a grave last Sunday,
'Annie Williams' is read.
She stood there with me smiling as usual ,
Sat near the grave and cut a flower with her crop cutter.

She handled it to me and it turned yellow.

About this poem

This poem is completely based on imaginations , sofie Williams' had a daughter that she lost when she was 15 year old. Sofie used to dream about her with open eyes until her last breaths, she felt her presence everywhere. Annie her daughter died in the world war, and was her only one to relay on. Lastly this poem tells the losses families suffered in crimes, wars and genocides of no use.
