Who was she?

A woman of great extremes she was
Her eyes would twinkle like the nightly stars
When she laughed out loud
She could rattle a crowd
It's musical notes would echo a mile
From the sternest face could it hack a smile

Her eyes could drown in a sea of tears
And one day would seem like a thousand years
Seemed her lungs would burst from these agonizing cries
Then our hearts would darken like some stormy skies
And when she sang a song of praise
From deep within her soul her voice would raise
Whomever be around would hum along
Attracted to the words of a passionate song

If one of her children would step out of line
Her rupturous would sramble their minds
Those fiery eyes will shoot daggers at you
And she'd be mad as hell for a day or two

She'd fight like a warrior for the underdog
Her tongue would become a sharp-edged sword
It's razor blades would cut you to shreds
She would light up those pieces
And burn them to ash

She could enfold you with unconditional love
Her kindness surrounded you when days grew tough
She was there for anyone who dared to ask
A woman of great extremes she certainly was
