Presenting Theater Meant
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Presenting theater meant.
For the purpose to fill seats,
Full to capacity.
Leaving no standing room,
To allow fiction to start it...
Consumed to delude,
Minds prepared to escape a reality.
And any truth to refuse...
To accept over being mentally entertained.
Even these days,
Of committing fraud, corruption...
And a variety of lawless crimes.
Many find this more to enjoy.
Observed to endorsed,
Re-enacted and copied by juveniles...
In a so called progressive society.
Performed in suburbia or urban streets.
Imitated to perfection.
No longer functioning to fiction.
But...
Becoming more normalized to believe.
And made easier to receive,
In anyone's home on wide screen TV's.
Theatrically seen.
Although most could care less,
How they are entertained.
To have this addressed.
Whether in a courtroom, street.
Or disbelieve the reality,
Produced by proof and its evidence.
People will defend and support,
Their criminals to endorse.
With the hope eventually to see,
Them declared to be victims.
Walking away scot free.
Or riding off into the Sunset.
Whether on a horse or limousine.
Leaving behind them,
A conviction of their crimes.
Or locked away in prison,
Sentence for crimes done to commit.
While hearing applause and cheers,
Coming from those loving it all.
No matter how high the price to pay,
To allow the quality...
And the reality of their lives,
Chipped away by entertaining...
Theatrical performances.
Presented and meant...
To keep their minds deluded.
And refusing to believe,
They participated in a fiction...
Meant to deceive and keep them duped!
'Oh...
Thank God the ending,
Is as we wished to anticipate it.
Long live the greatness of our lives.
To realize forever they will stay that way.'
'But...
What about our democracy?
It needs more dramatic enhancements!'
'I agreed.
It is in need,
For a new re-written updated script.
The other outdated one.
Doesn't quite fit in today's reality!
Renovating it to put smiles to paint over,
Old and aging idols.
Giving the appearance,
Of a youthful image.
Repeatedly disappoints the truth as is!'
