My Best Friend

My Best Friend
It is a bond that is not said,
It's in my heart, my soul, my head,
It could never be defined,
there are no words that could explain.
I simply know because I do,
You understand because you're you.
We've not a friendship nor a kinship,
But a connection of our souls.
I can not place the time it started,
But there has not been a single day,
I did not think of you, I always knew, when I needed you you'd say..
"You are my friend, you have my word,
There is nothing I would not do,
You can count on me, have faith in me,
I want the best for you".
And I believed all that you said
I knew that you believed in me
And because of you I've strived to be the best that I can be
But if I fail or if I faulter
I know that you will grab my hand
And pull me up and push me forward,
It is you who understands.
I hope you know how much I love you,
I'll be here for you until the end,
but more than anything, I want you to know,
You're so much more than my best friend.
